We can only accept identity documents that meet the following criteria:

  1. It must be issued by a government body (federal or provincial/territorial);

  2. It must be valid;

  3. It must contain a photo of yourself;

  4. It must contain your first and last name;

  5. It must contain your date of birth. To qualify for an account, you must meet or exceed the age of majority in your province. You must be at least:

    1. 18 years old in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Québec, and Saskatchewan;

    2. 19 years old in British Columbia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Northwest Territories, Nova Scotia, Nunavut, and Yukon.

These are acceptable identity documents:

  • Passport (Canadian)

  • Canadian Provincial or Territorial Driver's License

  • Canadian Provincial or Territorial Photo ID Card

  • Permanent Residence Card

Important info:

  • If you’re submitting a provincial/territorial driver’s license or photo identification card, you must upload a clear image of the front AND the back.

  • If you’re submitting a passport, you must upload an image that clearly includes the top AND bottom page.

  • Copies of ID documents must be submitted in colour and must not be altered in any way.

  • Please note the following documents are currently not acceptable but subject to review at a later date:

    • Secure Certificate of Indian Status

    • BC Services Card
