What is Migration?

We’re excited to announce the launch of the new and improved Coinsquare. All you have to do is transition your existing Coinsquare account when it’s your turn in order to get the new experience.

How to Migrate Your Account

Client accounts will be migrated in segments. You will get several email notifications in advance of migration to advise you of the specific date and time that your account will be migrated to the new platform.

Once your account is migrated, here are the steps you’ll need to take to get access to your account on the new platform.

Confirmation Email

You’ll be sent an email with the following subject line: "Your account has been migrated to the new Coinsquare platform"

Please review that email and complete the following steps:

Step 1: Confirmation Email

  • Click the blue button that says "Start here" in this email. You will be taken to a new tab, where a confirmation email is sent, and the page you see will confirm this.

Step 2: “Let’s Get You Access to Your Account” Email.

  • A new email will be sent to you with the following subject line: "Let's get you access to your migrated account". This email will surface a button that will take you to a landing page to set up your new login and password. Click the 'Claim your account' button to continue.

Step 3: Claiming Your Account

  • On this page, you will be asked to input your OLD Coinsquare username and password.

  • If you have forgotten your password, follow these instructions in the correct order:

    • 1. Start by following this link to reset your OLD Coinsquare password.

    • 2. When your password has been confirmed to have changed, go here and type in the email address associated with your account.

    • 3. You should instantly receive an email similar to the "Let's Get You Access" message from Step 2. Click "Claim Your Account" in this new email and continue.

Step 4: Finish Claiming Your Account

  • On the next page, you will be asked to create a new password. All passwords must meet certain criteria. If your old Coinsquare password meets the following criteria, you may set it again on this page:

    • Minimum of 8 characters

    • One number

    • One lowercase character

    • One uppercase character

    • One special character (!, @, #, $, %, etc.)

Step 4.5: Creating a new 2FA for your new account

  • If 2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is enabled on your OLD Coinsquare account you will be required to set-up a new 2FA on the next page. For guidance on this step, please refer to Managing 2FA during Migration. You will be asked for the 6-digit code on the next page after clicking Continue.

Step 5: Complete!

  • All done! Your login should be verified and you should be able to log into your fully merged account on the next page by clicking "Log In". You can also login using the Coinsquare mobile app at this stage.
