2-Factor Authentication (2FA) is a layer of security in addition to your username and password. When you have 2FA enabled for your account, you will need to provide your password and your 2FA code, or scan a QR code when signing into your Coinsquare account through your browser.
While there are different types of 2FA available, Coinsquare offers two methods of TOTP (Time-based One Time Password) 2FA. TOTP is a temporary passcode generated by an algorithm which is used to authenticate access to your account.
TOTP 2FA Methods:
Coinsquare 2FA
When Coinsquare 2FA is enabled, you will be required to scan a QR code using the official Coinsquare iOS or Android mobile app in order to gain access to your account on coinsquare.com.
Google 2FA
When Google 2FA is enabled, you will be required to enter the active 6-digit code or “token” in order to gain access to your account on coinsquare.com. This code updates every 30 seconds on your Authenticator app.
