Coinsquare takes every measure possible to ensure the safety of our platform, however there are some additional steps you can take to help protect your own account against unauthorised access.
Contacting Coinsquare Support
Coinsquare employees will never ask for log in details, 2FA codes, or passwords. We will also never ask you to install software on your computer, or for remote access.
If anyone claiming to be a Coinsquare Support agent requests this information, please contact us immediately.
Coinsquare Support can be reached by submitting a ticket, initiating a ticket through our chatbot, or through email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We do not offer phone support at this time. As fake customer service pages and phone numbers continue to pop up, we ask that you please be diligent in verifying any information you may come across on Google pages, social media, or forums.
First and foremost, never disclose your password to anyone. A Coinsquare employee will never ask for your password.
Choose a password that is complex and different from those used on any other websites. Remember to periodically change your password - about once every 3 months is recommended. You can also use a password manager, such as LastPass, to help keep track of your passwords and generate complex passwords.
2FA apps are considerably more secure than SMS codes, as they are tied to a physical device, and not a phone number. Phone numbers can be compromised easily through SIM swap attacks.
It is extremely important that you ensure your email address is secure. This is one of the most significant ties between you and your Coinsquare account.
Use a different password for your email account than the one you use for your Coinsquare account. If 2-Factor Authentication is offered by your email provider, activate it as an added layer of security.
Look out for Phishing
Beware of emails or any contact from individuals pretending to be associated with Coinsquare - also known as Phishing. If an email seems suspicious or looks off, avoid clicking on links or opening any attachments. Bookmark important websites and make sure that you are using the correct URL when logging in.
If you are unsure about an email you have received that appears to be from Coinsquare, please contact our Support Team here.
